Ethic Code

An ethical code and deontology for Richmond's elected was adopted in 2011 in accordance with the Law on ethics and deontology within Municipalities.

The main values stated in the deontology and ethical code is:

1° Integrity;

2° Honor while fulfilling duties;

3° Caution in pursuit of public interest;

4° Respect towards other council members, employees and citizens;

5° Loyalty to the Municipality;

6° Equity.

 

Objective

The rules foreseen in the present deontology and ethical code are to prevent:

1° all situations where the council member's personal interest could influence their judgement while fulfilling their duties;

2° all situations that go against articles 304 and 361 of Municipal Election and Referendum Laws;

3° favoritism, fraudulent use of corporate property, breach of trust or other improper conduct.
