ACTIVITIES

The manager of Activities for the Town of Richmond is Mr. Jacques Paquette.  He has been with the Town since 1980.

MISSION

The main goal of this department is to develop, encourage, support, advise, plan, coordinate, and manage all ressources destined for activities.

It's first mission, which in fact, includes all its other missions, is to provide the population with quality sports, leisure, and outdoor activities.

The Activity department collaborates, in a specific manner, with the different sports and leisure associations, and supports them with the organization, management, and planning, of their respective activity.

The department ensures the management, and coordination of schedules for the use of the various sport fields and buildings in the municipality.  It councils supports, defines technical needs, gives reference to other resources and makes sure its customers receive a quality service in municipal development, such as the arena, sports fields, skate-park, and pool etc.

The Activities Service has the following values:

Quality:  The Activities Service strives to offer services that meet with citizens standards;

Respect:  Each individual has the right to be respected;

Solidarity:  The Activities Service team up with its different partners to offer the population the best service possible;

Protection:  The Activities Service wishes to protect the activity users within the municipality and ensures that the areas are always safe, and up to code with present laws.

 

EQUIPEMENT & LOCATION

Even thought the Activities department is located at 820, Gouin in  Richmond, it manages its sport areas all over the Town of Richmond.  The Service manages many different locations such as:

  • Arena Sport Centre P.E. Lefebvre
  • The gymnasiums at the Plein Coeur School and the Richmond Regional High-School
  • Soccar fields at the Richmond Regional High-School
  • Ball Field at the Plein Coeur School
  • Municipal pool
  • Municipal ball park
  • The Skate-park
  • The Volley-Ball Park
  • The Tennis Courts at the Plein Coeur School

The administrative council of the Activities Department is made up of the following members:
